We insist all buyers sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and provide proof of financial ability prior to having any discussions about our clients' businesses. Bill Law, President of Sunbelt Charlotte office, is a 1983 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. During his accounting profession, Bill worked for various manufacturing companies and financial institutions as an internal auditor, investment accountant, banking supervisor, real estate development controller and financial analyst. In 1992, Bill founded Sunbelt's fourth office in Charlotte. Of Sunbelt's nearly 300 offices nationwide, the Charlotte office has consistently been either its top producing office nationwide or top producer on the east coast.
In 1996, Bill affiliated his office with the International Business Brokers Association and its Mergers and Acquisitions Group; The M & A Source. During the first year of IBBA membership, Bill obtained the association's professional designation of Certified Business Intermediary. He has since served as a speaker/instructor at several of IBBA's national educational training conferences. Bill spends much of his time on mid-market transactions in various industries, but specializes in the sale of manufacturing businesses to corporate entities and financial buyers. Some of his transactions have exceeded $20 Million in sales price with some involving multiple sales of companies to buyers within a particular industry. Peter was educated in England and has been resident in the U.S. since 1986. Peter Coleman comes to the business brokerage industry with a background of over 20 years in the publishing, investment banking and the maritime industry. He was a documentary credits specialist and was a member of several international trade delegations to Eastern Europe.
After nearly ten years in business brokerage, including four years of ownership of his own Sunbelt offices in South Mississippi, he has built up a specialization in health care related businesses, the hospitality industry and franchise resale. Peter completed all the required courses and was awarded the IBBA qualification of Certified Business Intermediary in 2001. He is an accomplished public speaker and often speaks to business groups about the subject of "Maximizing the Value of your Business" and "Preparing your Business for Sale". In his spare time he has been very involved in coaching Track and Field in addition to being a board member of the local Historical Society. Prior to joining Sunbelt Business Brokers in the mid 90's, Bob was the owner of a $10 Million/yr manufacturer and distributor of children's jewelry. Bob also owned his own Sunbelt Business Brokers office until hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf region. Bob spends much of his time selling small family owned businesses as well as larger mergers and acquisitions. He has attended a multitude of courses taught by the International Business Brokers Association. Ed has represented the Sunbelt Charlotte office since 1995 and successfully completed deals from one end of the business spectrum to the other. Previous to his 16 years as a business intermediary, he owned a business in the direct marketing industry and, as a result, is experienced in addressing the specific needs of clients operating large and small businesses alike. Ed has a Marketing degree from Pennsylvania University and served time in the United States Marine Corps. Ken Leonard is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration. After 4 years in the US Air Force, he joined Central Carolina Bank. Ken worked for 13 years with CCB as a commercial lender and City Executive. The last 23 years, Ken worked with Branch Banking and Trust as a commercial Lender and City Executive. Lynn has 35 years of business experience, with a focus on creating customized business solutions. He lived or worked full time in Europe and Latin America for 20 years of his professional life. Most of his career involved creating and operating outsourcing contracts for one of the world's largest outsourcers, and later as an international consultant specialized in supporting buyers of outsourcing services.
Lynn holds a Bachelor's degree from Oregon State University and a Master's degree from the American Graduate School of International Management. As a young man he served in the United States Marine Corps. He speaks French and Spanish. Mr. Mahlon Karl Pitt has a Masters in Accounting and passed to CPA exam in 1980. He went to work for Arthur Young, CPA's (now Ernst & Young) as a CPA in auditing. In 1983 he started his own CPA firm which he sold in 1986.
Mahlon's last position as a CPA in industry was as the Sr. VP of Finance and Administration for a manufacturing company -- The company sold for approximately $24M. Mr. Pitt was an integral part of the sale working through the entire successful sales transaction. Mahlon then became an Executive Recruiter specializing in financial and accounting management positions in manufacturing and energy under the name of Pitt & Associates until 2011 when he transitioned to business brokerage with Sunbelt.

John graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Global Trade and Commerce Studies with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. During college he started a deck construction business that sold after graduating. He also spent a year as a graduate masters fellow in the Entrepreneurship Department and took MBA classes at Wake Forest. As a graduate student he started a non-profit organization called Character Resources that donated books to underprivileged schools. He has owned several businesses and worked on multiple deals with SBA Financing involved. John lived for a year in Central America while working for a non-profit organization. He speaks Spanish and is licensed to practice real estate in North Carolina.
