The owner of this scrap metal recycling company started it 20 years ago. For a scrap metal yard, it is a very clean operation and they do not do environmental sensitive materials. Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals are recycled. 90% of the metals come from large industrial concerns which the company picks up deliveries regularly with its own fleet. Processing is done at the yard with Scheers and a large chopper that cost over $1M. The metals are then placed in rail cars for shipment to steel processors for meltdown. Sales in the first 6 months of 2008 are $4.4M with over $1.5M profit. A second location an hour away is available for set up as it is on a rail switch and is permitted.
